The arrival of the doctor stopped her taunts. “The kid’s legs are broken. His spleen has ruptured. Someone needs to pay immediately!”
I shoved Brenda forward. “This is his mother!”
The doctor gave her a form. “Fill it out and pay
for it. We don’t have time to waste!”
Brenda yawned and began to pick her nails. “I
don’t have money. Let him die!”
She watched me happily.
She always thought that the hellspawn was my
son.
The doctor lost his temper. “Hey! That’s your
son! You need to pay and get this surgery
done!”

The doctor got angry. With no other choices, he
began the emergency operation.
Brenda sat outside. The people nearby could
not do anything about it.
After some time, the doctor came back. “His
liver and spleen have ruptured. We need a new
one. We need to get it fast.”
Brenda just chewed gum.
Finally, I offered a hand, as if I’d had it all along.
“Do you believe that I’m the son?”
The doctor was pissed. “I need to get a blood
test If we’re lucky that might work. You need

Brenda had dragged me away. “Sarah, you need
to get tested. If you save him, you’ll be begging
me to thank me!”
I didn’t protest.
The doctor was angry. “None of you are
compatible. Is there another parent?”
Brenda panicked. “What? Is Sarah not a
match?”
The doctor was pissed. “You’re the mother!
What do you mean! Only you are able to
match!”
Brenda was shocked and looked at me. She
was wondering why I had matched.

“No! It’s not possible! This is not possible!”
Brenda read the report. “That hellspawn has
nothing to do with me! How am I compatible?”
The doctor said, “You’re a mom! You have the
same blood type! You’re his mother!”
Brenda turned to me. She just didn’t know what
