Craig was frantically sending out resumes and desperately looking for a job. When he saw Melanie’s message, he imunediately responded: [No way, she would never leave me for someone else. She wouldn’t cheat on me.l
He had been with Kylie for over seven years, from high school until now. He had never once thought she would betray him. But ever since he saw her yesterday, he had been feeling an overwhelming sense of anxiety. It felt as though he was truly about to lose her.
Seeing Craig’s misplaced confidence, Melanie angrily called him. “My dad and I went to Walters Group today, and we saw her delivering soup to Zach right outside the building. Zach even spoke ill of my dad and me in front of Mr. Walters because of her, Craig, she’s been betraying you for a long time. I really underestimated her, thinking she wouldn’t do anything so outrageous. For someone as shortsighted as Melanie, all she could imagine was that Zach was the one keeping Kylie.
“Zach Trevor’s assistant at Walters Group?” Craig’s expression stiffened.
“Yeah, that’s him. Although he’s not as powerful as Mr. Walters, he’s quite handsome and capable. Craig, you need to figure something out. Even my dad is now supporting Kylie being with Zach. Craig suddenly felt as if a piece of his heart was missing. “No way, she’s just mad at me. Do you know where she’s working? Could it be she was just doing a favor for someone? She’d never be someone else’s mistress.”
During the seven years that Kylie was with him, they had never crossed any boundaries because they wanted to leave it until their wedding day. In desperation, he called his mother. “Mom, can you call Kyle’s adoptive mother and ask her what’s going on with Kylie? Melanie just told me that Kylie is being kept by someone, and that’s why she broke up with me. Maybe it’s because she thinks I’m too poor. L… I can’t lose Kylie right now.”
When Jasmine heard that Kylie had broken up with Craig because she was being kept by someone else, she angrily called Kylie’s adoptive mother, Amanda. Amanda happened to be home that day, busy with house cleaning. Seeing Jasmine’s call, she frowned. Why would she get involved in the young people’s affairs? she wondered. “What’s up. Jasmine?” Amanda asked.
Jasmine let out a cold snort. “Do you know that Kylie is being kept by someone? That’s why she broke up with my son In her mind, if there was going to be a breakup, it should have been her son who initiated it, not Kylie. Just a while ago, Kylie was so devoted to Craig, doing everything to please him. But now, she had the nerve to betray him..
Amanda’s face turned cold. “I know exactly what kind of person Kylie is, and you know your son well. It was your son who betrayed Kylie first. Think about how Kylie has treated you all these years. If you had any conscience, you wouldn’t have

“I never asked her to do anything for me. She came over herself because she was so into my son. If it weren’t for her, my son could’ve found someone better. You’re no better, Amanda. You’ve always been so frivolous, and now Kylie’s just like you.” Jasmine spat out venomously.
“One day, you and your son will regret this. The way you’re insulting and hurting Kylie today will come back to haunt you!” Amanda’s hands trembled with anger. Jasmine made this call just to disgust Amanda. If he had known that Jasmine and Craig were not what they appeared to be on the surface, she would have stopped Kylie from being with Craig in the first place. Liam looked at the painting Kyle had just restored and couldn’t stop smiling The restoration was perfect. It was the best restoration job he had ever seen. Glancing at kylie, who was already working on the next painting in the studio, he felt that his money had been well spent.

When she finally stepped out of Liam’s shop, she realized it was raining outside. Fortunately, her car was parked right by the entrance, so she quickly got in and headed back to Starlit

Halfway through her drive. Jessie called her. “Kylie, can you come keep me company? I’m at Midnight Bar.”
“I’ll be there soon,” Kylie replied, immediately turning her car around and setting her GPS for Midnight Bar, Jessie was usually carefree and upbeat, so if she was at a bar alone, something must be bothering her.
Kylie quickly arrived at the bar. In contrast to the light rain outside and the nearly empty streets, the bar was packed with people. It took her a while to finally spot Jessie in the crowd.
An empty bottle sat on the table in front of Jessie, and she was clearly drunk. Yet she was still holding a mixed cocktail in her hand, taking another sip.
“Why are you drinking so much?” Kylie frowned and asked.
Jessie giggled. “Drinking is fun! Kylie, come drink with me. I’ve got money. My husband made so much, I should help him spend it, right?”
