Chapter 54
Austin and Chris were surprised by how unfazed Zac seemed about the possibility of being fired.
Something didn’t feel quite right, but they couldn’t
They stared blankly at the phone had handed them, unable to say a word.
Tm giving you a chance here. You two should read more books–learn how to treat your younger
sister and how to cherish family ties. If you don’t change, one day, you’ll regret the way you’re acting as brothers now,” Zach said, then placed the phone to his car.
He was pleased to hear Trevor say, “Well done” Satisfied, he hung up the call.
Seeing Austin and Chris in sorry states, Kylie wasn’t particularly pleased but thought they had brought this upon themselves.
Tll be heading out now. Thanks for your help today. Mr. Zoltan. I’ll treat you to a meal sometime,” Kylie said before getting into her car.
Zach nodded, honored. “Sounds great!”
He had a few things he wanted to ask Kylie. His parents had a family heirloom, but they weren’t sure if it was genuine. People around them said it was a replica from that era. He wasn’t confident about having anyone else verify its authenticity, but with Kylie doing the assessment, he could rest assured.
Austin and Chris watched as Kylie left and Zach crossed the street, each nursing their own pain. To avoid embarrassment, they couldn’t make a big deal out of it.
They exchanged glances. Chris gritted his teeth, saying, “Kylie will regret this. She used to suck up to me so much, all because she wanted me to accept her. Now she’s playing hard to get to make us pay attention to her. Tons of stories play out like this”
“I don’t think so. She and that man don’t seem to have the kind of relationship Dad was talking about. Austin frowned, weighed down by a strange feeling he couldn’t quite describe.
Chris growled. “I don’t care. The only sister I recognize is Mell
Across the street, after getting into the car, Zach reported, “Mr. Walters, Ms. Thompson is fine.”
“Hmm,” Trevor responded, exuding a chilling aura, his expression dark.
Zach hesitated before asking. “Mr. Walters, are we still going to the Carter family yacht party at the pier?”
A hint of darkness passed through Trevor’s eyes, showing his dislike for such gatherings. “Head back to Starlit Villa.”
Kylie arrived at Starlit Villa ahead of him.
As soon as she stepped inside, she received a WhatsApp message from Noreen.
Noreen knew Kylie had taken on a job restoring an antique painting and wanted to know if she was free after work and if she had any other plans.
Kylie replied: [Grandma, I’ll be off work by 4 pm, tomorrow:]
Noreen replied quickly. [Xander has been pestering me to bring you over to his house. I’ll have the driver pick you up tomorrow, and we’ll head over together.]

Kylie had been so busy with so many things lately that she had nearly forgotten about her promise to Xander at the hospital.
After putting down her bag, she headed straight to se kitchen.
All that commotion at the bar had left her hum
When Trevor returned, he notice Kylie busy in the kitchen.
The aroma of food wafted through the air.
From the moment. Trevor first met Kylie, he knew she was standing–the kind of beauty that stood out in a crowd. But her quiet cooking in the kitchen added a new layer of softness to her presence, which made one feel at ease and offered a respite from the day’s burdens.
Seeing him standing at the kitchen door, Kylie askel with a smile. Tve made a couple of simple dishes. Care to join me?”
“Sure. Trevor rephed
He felt his headache begin to subside, probably because he felt more relaxed at home.
He had a few drinks at the party earlier but hadn’t eaten much, though he wasn’t particularly hungry. Still, looking at Kylie’s smiling face, he suddenly felt an appetite stir.
After changing his clothes, he came back downstairs to find the table set with two dishes: one plate of salad, one plate of honey–glazed ribs, and two servings of spaghetti.
Although simple, the dishes looked and smelled delightful.
“Mr. Walters, thank you for your help today” Kylie expressed her gratitude as soon as she sat down.
“It was nothing. No need to be so formal, Trevor replied. He felt slightly uncomfortable with her formal address and gracious politeness, but he didn’t take it too seriously. If anything, I should be thanking you for the meals you keep cooking
for me.”
Kylie smiled “Let’s eat before the food gets cold. Too many thanks, and the meal will go to waste.”
“Alright,” said Trevor. Though he rarely ate vegetables, he surprisingly ate half the plate of salad. Under Kylie’s care, even such a simple dish tasted extraordinary.
“Tomorrow morning. I’ll take you to work. When you are about to leave work, the driver will come to get you after picking up Grandma. Trevor said after finishing his meal.
“Thanks for the trouble. Kylie nodded.
Suddenly remembering something, she got up, found her purse, and took out a large bag from inside. Inside were several smaller packets, each containing herbal tea.
She said, “I had these tea bags made at a traditional medicine shop. They’re similar to the ones you’ve been drinking lately, but I adjusted a few ingredients. They should help with your sleep.”
Trevor stared at the tea bags, a hint of suspicion flashing in his dark eyes. He thought, ‘Is she… trying to get on my good
side?
“Since I’ll be seeing Grandma tomorrow, I also prepared some herbal foot soak packs for her to take home,” Kylie said, standing up to clear the dishes.
Trevor got up too. I’ll wash the dishes.

Chapter 31
“No need today. I handle it, You didn’t look well earlier, Are you having a headache again?” Kylie said, taking the dishes to
the kitchen.
With only the two of them eating, there weren’t my dishes, so she would finish quickly
Surprised that she was observant enough to ha tonight”
This condition, Trevor replied, “It’s probably due to the drinks I had
Knowing that drinking often did icad to headaches, Kylie didn’t say anything further.
As she washed the dishes. Trevor sat down on the sola, leaning lick.
After spending some time together, they had grown more familiar with each other.
Still, Trevor found himself staring at the tea bags, lost in though
He wasn’t sure how much time had passed when he heard someone speaking but didn’t quite catch it. He turned his head to see Kyle standing beside him.
Kylie repeated herself, “Do you want me to massage your head for you?”
Trevor suddenly realized something and his face turned cold instantly. “I only helped you today because of Grandma. Don’t
overthink it.”
“Isn’t it you who’s overthinking? I asked because I thought you right have a headache as you didn’t look well. Since you don’t need help. I’ll go get some rest as I planned, Kylie snapped visibly annoyed.
She thought. How ungrateful! Let him suffer in pain then! If it weren’t for Grandma telling me that despite his aloof appearance, he is actually a good person, I wouldn’t have offered to help him. Moreover, Grandma hoped I could assist him. She mentioned that if I could help alleviate his headaches, it would be even better, as it would give her peace of mind and ease her worries about him‘
