Sarah’s fiance was suspended because of the
heat.
But the internet wasn’t happy.
The hospital’s account was flooded:
“You’re all a bunch of garbage! You’re trying to
protect the pervert!”
“When you see a roach, there’s more of them!”
“I agree! All the doctors must be like that,
they’re all perverts!”
“If he did this, what else has he done?!”
<
they’re all perverts!”
“If he did this, what else has he done?!”

“Maybe there are hidden cameras in the
examination room! They’re spying on patients!”
“That could be, that’s so scary!”
Sarah’s fiance was attacked, the hospital was
attacked, the doctors were attacked.
It was taking over their lives.
He hid in his room, trying to explain himself
online, looking sad.
Sarah called me crying.
“…The police said there’s not much they can do,
so I have to take him to court.”
“But that will take so long. By the time he’s

proven innocent, no one will care!”

“Why is this happening?! Why did this have to
happen, we didn’t do anything wrong!”
As she talked, she lost control.
I received hundreds of hate messages myself.
I couldn’t imagine what they were going
through.
Comfort didn’t help.
I had to solve the problem.
I found Emily.
“You have emotions, I get it.”
“…We…we can work this out.”
I only felt hatred for the woman who hurt my
<
daughter.
But the internet sided with her.
I had to appease her to solve the problem.
After making sure I wasn’t recording her, Emily slapped me.
“You were cocky before. What happened?”
“You look like a dog begging for food, it’s so funny!”
I held in my anger.
“I should’ve been more careful.”
“I’m sorry…”
Emily cut me off.
“Too late!”

“I couldn’t contact you. I was thinking about my
man getting engaged.”
“You can’t imagine how helpless I was!”
“But now…”
Emily smiled.
“The roles are switched! You’re now getting to
experience a tiny fraction of what I was
feeling!”
“You want me to stop? No way!”
“You mistreated me, you hurt me, you’re all
going to die!”
She had to be crazy!
I was shaking, but held it in.
“Vou’re slandering him the truth will come out ”
“You’re slandering him, the truth will come out.”
“You have to stop.”
“We can figure this out!”
Emily shook her head, laughing.
She thought I was stupid.
“The truth? Who cares about the truth!”
“No one cares!”
“The internet sides with me, I’m going to win!”
Emily stood up, looking down at me.
“You have no power!”
“You should try to please me.”
<
Emily left.
I was silent.
Sarah’s fiance called the police.
Sarah wanted to sue.
I wanted to make peace with Emily.
We were trying to be the bigger person.
Emily was doing the opposite.
She lied and made up stories.
She faked police reports, and slandered my
fiance.
She ignored the evidence, and blamed us.
Emily used cheap tactics.
But those cheap tactics got her support.
We were in a bad situation.
“Who cares about the truth?”
No one cared.
I stood up.
I was going to have them care.
